CaPS(S) Events

What is the structure at a CaPS(S) event?

The Structure is very simple and opens up the platform to speakers to voice their view on - Communication Skills and Public Speaking (Strategies) - Methods worth practising! on various themes every Thursday.

·         6:30PM - Opening Address and introductions
·         (each member is given 30 seconds on the buzzer to introduce themselves)
·         7:00 PM – 1st Speaker
·         7:15 PM – 2nd Speaker
·         7:30 PM – 3rd Speaker
·         7:45 PM – 4th Speaker
·         8:00 PM – Tea & Snacks & Network
·         8:30 PM – Network & Farewells

Note each presentation is judged on the following two parameters and there’s a best speaker award at every meeting. The two criterions are –

1.    Did the presentation appeal to the house and Why?
2.    Did the presentation not appeal to the house and Why?

*Note – each speaker is given 15 minutes to make a presentation on any theme around Communication Skills and Public Speaking (Strategies) - Methods worth practising! Speakers are provided with an LCD projector plus a white board and flip charts to aid them in their presentation. The 15 minutes includes the speaking time and the question time; ideally 12 minutes for speaking and 3 minutes for questions)

Venue: ‘The Conference Hall', Natya Ballet Centre, 21 Bhai Vir Singh Marg, Near Gole Market, New Delhi
Event Frequency: Every Thursday
Time: 6:30PM – 8:30PM

How can I attend a CaPS(S) event? 

To be invited or to be confirmed as an attendee for a CaPS(S) event; interested attendees are advised to make their requests early as we fill up fast and you might have to wait till there is an open seat available for the upcoming event. Can speakers be nominated for a CaPS(S) event? 

You can nominate yourself as a speaker too! (You’ll find the themes on the ‘Themes’ page) CaPS(S) Speakers are from distinguished backgrounds in the areas of Communication and Public Speaking with an Academic and, or Professional association. Speakers are invited to speak by CaPS(S) at Events through referrals and recommendations; however there are two other ways a speaker can be listed for an event.

5.    Speakers can nominate themselves if they find the theme for any particular event in line with their Academic or Professional occupation/vocation with at least 2 Academic or 2 Professional references.
6.    A speaker can be nominated by the general public and must be supported with reasons and verifiable information for the legitimacy of the candidature.
